ST. HELENS HOSPITAL.
■.Sir,—l-consider Hie ladies of Auckland [ and surrounding* have came to thank Mr*. j .Emily Niecol tor her persistent efforts to | place matter* connected with St. Helenr j Hospital in an honest and open light. So far, no answer Las come to her lust letter in i your paper. Is it that Mr. Fowlds, fearing an inquiry, means to keep quiet, hoping the ion inquiry, means to keep quiet, hoping the matter will drop? i, for one, hope Mr*. Niecol will not allow that, to happen, and I wish abler and more influential ppopla ! than myself would combine and help th:» } energetic lady to stand up for the right* of j their poorer sisters those for whom thi* | hospital was built. ' If Mr. Fowlds continue* j to ignore Mrs. Xiceol's challenge, it must j mean ho fears the outcome of an inquiry, j for otherwise he would, if he wishes to reI tain his seat in the House, jump at the offe» she makes him, antl gladly do anything to secure her help at the earning election. Otahuhu, ' M.W.
