The demand was also very slack and quotations may be regarded as merely nominal. Sheep: We yarded 652 and sold 293. Ewes in lamb, in low condition, made 5j 6rl; better lines of aged ewes in lamb, 9s to 9s fxl ; fat ewes, 13s; two-tooth wethers. 13s 3d. The stringency in the apple market continue? owing to reduced supplies reaching here from Tasmania and from local sources. Tasmanuin pears are worth 12s to 14s per haltcase and hothouse giapes Is 6il to 2s per lb. Hothouse tomatoes realise 8d to lOd per lb, lemons 5s to 7s per case, and passion-fruit 3s to 3s 6d per box. Potatoes are dull at 5s to 5s 6d per cwt, new potatoes being inquired for, with a satisfactory outlet offering. Onions are scarce, and Japanese, due on Wednesday, will arrive opportunely, present values being £12 to £13 per ton. 'Cauliflowers are scarce at 9s to 12s per sack. Cabbages realise 7s to 9s per sack and lettuce 5s to 6s per case.
