— .» SUPERANNUATION QUESTION i STRIKERS AND BACK TIME. [BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Cheistchurch, Morday. A largely-ATTENDED meeting of the' Canterbury branch of the Associated Society of Railway Servants was held yesterday for the purpose of considering the position of the strikers of 1890 as to their back time counting for the purposes of superannuation. Strong feeling was shown at the action of the executive in not taking advantage of Sir Joseph Ward's offer tp. allow the society to buy in their back time for £1500, and it was* decided to .vend delegates to all the branohes in the Dominion to place, the position of the strikers before the members. MEETING AT DUNEDIN. [BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dtjnrdin, Monday. A special general meeting of the Ota go branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants was held yesterday afternoon, when Messrs. Cameron and Watson, delegates from the Canterbury branch, addressed' a gathering of different departments on the question affecting the offer to accept the sum of £1500 for the purpose of making good, for superannuation purposes the time lost by those men concerned in the strike of 1890. After discussion, it was decided that the Canterbury delegates be heartily thanked for their addresses, and that in the event of the executive proceeding with the ballot this branch will do all in its power to bring the same to a successful issue.
