BRITISH MANUFACTURES.

The Board of Trade has formed a branch for dealing \ with matters relating tbv; British -participation >in future international exhibitions, and to superintend the 'organisation of exhibits. Mr. W. F. Wintour (Secretary to the Advisory Committee on Commercial Intelligence) has been appointed head of the new division, and Sir Isidore Spielman, who was an; executive commissioner in I> connection ; with the New Zealand International Exhibition, and has organised many art exhibitions, will be director of the art section. ■ '
The Board of Trade, recognising the growing importance of international exhibitions as a means of encouraging commerce, decided some months ago upon the appointment of a permanent official to maintain the continuity of • organisation and evolve improved plans from one exhibition to another. • " .;
