THE TRIANGULAR TESTS.
A DELICATE SITUATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. London, July 8. Several personal letters to the sporting newspapers disapprove of the M.C.C.'s attitude regarding the triangular cricket test scheme. One writer declares that the Advisory Committee has ignored common politeness and fairness towards the Australians. The Athletic News declares that the M.C.C. is coercing, not considering, Australia. Friday's decision does not fulfil its moral obligation under the invitation to the Australians to visit England in 1909. A writer in the Express says that the Australian cricketers reap a rich harvest in England. The Advisory Committee's decision shows that money in cricket is not the purpose for which Australians are invited Most newspapers, apparently recognising the delicacy of the situation, seem not desirous of commenting upon it.
