An anonymous giver of ; great generosity has come to the assistance of Sydney charities. A few days ago a member of the Sydney Rescue Work Society received by post this communication :— Enclosed you will find two crossed cheques, each to the value of £500—one towards reducing the mortgage on th< South Sydney Women's Hospital, Stanleystreet, Newtown, and the other towards the purchase of the : Babies' Home, Ros lyn Hall, Rockdale. There is only ont condition attached to this gift, and thai it that the giver's name be not mentioned. You need e not; be afraid that I've been card-playing or horseracing, or some thing of the kind, and won. ■'-.■...'..There art many reasons why my name should not b« mentioned.'...'
