The Marine Court concluded its-inquiry into the grounding of' the steamer Westr** lia to-day, and found that it was caused by the wrongful . act of Captain Dimsfoirl in recklessly navigating the vessel in a fog at a much greater speed than r prudent, and" steering a course which must necessarily have brought the vessel very close to land. The Court called upon him to show cause on Friday why his certificate should not be dealt with. : SHOT DEAD BY A NATIVE. Perth, 'July 7. He has, he states, given the Admiralty everything which appeared necessary, and would be only, too glad to supply more particulars. The Anti-Sweating League claims thati since 1896 the 'increase o£ wages under the Wages Boards has been a million and a-half, and that sweating has praclii cally been abolished in trades over which the Boards are operative.
