, <». ' Ak inquiry was held in. Sydney recently into the . circumstances of the death," of Albert Edwin Brewer, 25.years of age, a painter, a resident of: Long-street, '•■: Strathfield. The evidence showed ; that the deceased boarded a Sydney-bound _ train at Burwood, with the intention of going to rus business in Newtown. / "When the train arrived at Lewisham, at 8.23 a.m., the stationmaster called out, "Sydney only, this train." Brewer, who was reading -ut, the time, did not take any notice of. it, but shortly after the train had started he suddenly ; jumped up from his seat, and, running on to the ; car platform, jumped on to tho station platform. ■■} He missed his footing, and fell between the car and, the platform. The train was stopped,- and' Brewer was picked up and taken to;the Lewisham Hospital, where life was pronounced : extinct. - The medical evidence showed that both arms and the ""skull were fractured, and there was a severe compression of the chest. A verdict of accidental death was recorded. v.\.
