THE .SECOND TEST.

Wellington Monday. Ixviewed by a Herald representative on the arrival of the team at Wellington, Captain Harding, or the British footballers, said :—With regard to the second "test," on Saturday, his men were confident that they would make, a. better chow than on the occasion of the first— fact, they hoped to put up a great fight. His medical adviser said that unless he hurt his ankle again during, training lie would be able to participate. If there were any signs 01 weakness, however, he would on no account play. They had hopes thai Vassal! would be able to take part if selected. By the end of the present week the team should bo sounder than at any other period during the tour. It was probable, remarked Captain Harding, in conclusion, that the members of the team would be among the spectators at the inter-Island match on Wednesday. They had now obtained a thorough grasp of the rulings in force in the Dominion. With some of them, however, ■they disagreed entirely. Their team for the second test would be selected early in the week.
