BOWLING.
PAEROA CLUB. At the annual meeting of the. Paeroa Bowling Club the president (Dr. Smith) was in the chair. The annual report stated that the past, season had been a most successful one, and the balance-sheet, showed a surplus of assets over liabilities of about £50. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. H. Poland, M.P.; president, Dr. Smith; vice-presidents Messrs. J. E. Morland, W. D. Nicholas, and G. P. do Castro; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. McWatters; auditor, Mr. W. D. Nicholas; committee, Messrs. Pocock, Priestly, Niccol, Bromwich, Olson, and Hamilton; green superintendent, Mr. Hamilton ; delegates to South Auckland Bowling Association, Dr. Smith and Mr. McWatters. It was decided to affiliate with the Northern Bowling Association. Votes of thanks were passed to the outgoing officers, special mention being made of the good work of the president (Dr. Smith) and the secretary (Mr W. McWatters). At the close of the business the trophies won last year were presented as follows:—President's medal for championship, Mr. W. McWatters; do Castro bowls, Mr. G. H. Pocock; first year's players' bowls, Mr. W. Niccol.
