A CONTRACT CASK. Cruickshank, Miller, and Co. v. Harold Willie Hudson, J. W. Brooks, and 16 other workmen in their employ: This was a claim for £7 4s 8d for work done and material supplied in respect of a contract for the erection of a house. There was a further similar claim for £78 Os Bd, and a third by Hill and Hummer, Limited, for £19 9s Id, against the same defendants, in respect of the same contract. Mr. Johnston appeared for Cruiokshajik. Miller, and Co., Mr. Buttle for Hill and Hummer, Limited, and Mr. Gregory (Russell and Campbell) for defendants. Mr. Stanton watched the proceedings on behalf of .1. .1. Craig and Co., and Mr. Skcllon appeared for John Burns and Co. The claims were brought under the Workmen's and' Contractors' Liens Act. to determine the respective rights of workmen, subcontractors, and the holders of orders on the money clue by the proprietor of a building to the contractor. The cases were all adjourned to to-day, it being understood that meanwhile the claims of the. 16 added defendants would be paid in full, and the balance apportioned, amongst the various plaintiffs.
