The Rev. Dr. .Murray, Bishop of Mankind, New South Wales, attained his 80th birthday on May 23. He has been bishop of the 'diocese tor 42 years.
The. death is announced at Palmerston South of Lady McKenzie, widow of the late Hon. Jno. MeKenzie, formerly Minister for Lands. The deceased lady -had reached the age of 83.
Mr. Richardson, 'hie.' cleik of . the Police Department, Wellington, is at present on sick leave. After spending some time at Rotorua Mr. Richardson. leaves for England.
It is the unanimous wish of the Civil Service of Auckland Province that Mr. tjpence, of the. Customs Department, should act as the representative on the Superannuation Board.
Mr. A. M. Bryden was the recipient of a verv handsome silver tea. and coffee service from the SU Andrew's Society the other evening, as a mark of appreciation of his services to the society as musical conductor."
Mr. W. F. Massev, M.P., Leader -<■ the Opposition, returned to town yesterday, after a visit to Paparoa, Dargayille, and Helensville, having delivered political addresses at each place. - At Dargaville, after the speech, he was tendered a complimentary, bit liquet.

Mr. Walter Fossey, until recently instructor at the Newmarket Manual School, was presented on Wednesday, by the. boys of Standard VI., at the Newmarket school,-\ with a silver-mounted pocket-book, together with an address. Mr. Foesey left yesterday by the Takaptma for New Plymouth, en- route for Feilding. where he will take up the position of director of the Technical School.
' ' Mi. Nepean Kenny resigned his position of cterk and treasurer to the Ohinemini County Council, owing to illhealth, at the last meeting (telegraphs our Paeroa correspondent). Members spoke in eulogistic terms of his work during his'*'2l years' service, and the resignation was accepted with regret. Mr. Kenny was granted, .three months' leave of absence on full pay.
■ The many friends of the Rev. Fat Iter Holbrooke administrator of St. Patrick's Cathedral, 'will learn with regret, of his approaching- departure from Auckland. He has been ministering in the Cathedral parish for the last six years, and during that time, by his kindly and charitable disposition, has made for himself a host of friends. Some weeks "age he contracted a severe illness, necessitating a. stay in. a. private hospital.. Now that he is convalescent his .'..radical advisers consider it is necessary for him to spend some time in the country. Accordingly he has' accepted the pastoral charges of Cambridge and .surrounding districts, and will take up hie residence there shortly.
