WEASELS IN THE NORTH.
The Tangatori correspondent of the North Auckland Times writes:—" The self-satis-faction of those responsible for the importation of weasels must, be great when they see how they have overrun the country. In this district they are getting fairly numerous, and appear, to have a good time among the pheasants. They must find some sport also amongst the native birds, as some five years . ago I dropped across, them in the very heart of the Motatau bush. It is a great loss to the country, however, that the above-mentioned philanthropists did not go further in their work and stock the country with Siberian wolves, whip snakes, cobras, and a few more things of that sort."
