His Majesty's new turbine yacht Alexandra is primarily intended for short, cruises and for visits to harbours where the draught of water is limited. . The new vessel is 275 ft in length between perpendiculars. 328 ft 6in over all, 40ft in breadth, 33ft in depth from top of promenade deck to bottom of keel, and of 2157 tons Thames measurement. She is less than half the tonnage of the Victoria and Albert, His Majesty's largest yacht, but is about 300 tons larger than the old paddle yacht Osborne. The vessel is built of steel throughout, with cutwater stem and round stern. Site has three completely-laid decks—upper, main, and lower, with long promenade deck amidships, and a top-gallant forecasts deck forward.
