SIR JOHN EVANS By Telcscapb.— Association.— ■ -. London, June J. The death is announced of Sir John Evans, the eminent scientist and antiquarian, at the age of 85 years. Sir John Evans was a noted collector of eoius and antiquities, and published many works on Lite subiect, including " Tho Coins of the Ancient Britons," and "Ancient Bronze Implements." He held high office- in many scientific societies, including those of president of the Society of Antiquaries, president of the Royal Numismatic Society, president of the Egypt- Exploration Fund, president of the Anthropological Institute, treasurer of the Royal .Society, and chairman of the Society of Ails.
