THE GOVERNOR.
♦ . — On Thursday next His Excellency the Governor (Lord Plunket) will preside at the annual gathering of the Bands of Hope in the Royal Albert Hall, and on Saturday he will attend the Savage Club's korero. Lady Plunket will be present at the meeting of the Mothers' Union in St. Matthew's Parish Hall this evening. The Hon. Kathleen Plunket returned from Rotorua by the express* yesterday. On Tuesday next Their Excellencies and staff leave for Napier, and after spending a week there will leave for Palmerston North, where they will take up their residence in the house leased from Mr. J. H. P. Strang. His Excellency hopes to be able to attend the match. between the British and New Zealand footballers, to be played in Wellington on June 27, and also the match to be played at Palmerston North on July 8, between the Britishers and Manawatu and Horowhenua (combined). Mr. H. Flower, of London, who had been staying at Government House for the past few days, left by the Victoria for Sydney yesterday.
