In referring to the criticisms of the management of the Te Oranga Home la.stnigfit, the Hon. Geo. Fowlds said that some anonymous letters on the subject had been occasionally sent to Mrs. Fowlds. " Now, I wish to tell you, he said, " that Mrs. Fowlds is not a politician. If she were to push herself forward in these matters, this intrusion "might be pardoned, but she devotes herself to her home and her family." (Applause.) He asked that when anyone had any communications of this kind to send, to forward them to himseli, as he had a capacious wastepaper baeket- ready to receive them. •
