The meet of the Pakuranga Hunt Club n * "yesterday took place at St. John's College o- at midday, and a move was immediately t- made on to Mr. Pilkington's property, where several hares were put up, but the runs were , very .short and unsatisfactory, the hares runI ning only for a short distance, when the 16 scent was lost. .Mr. Tom Wyllie's property g adjoining was also tried with similar results. si The scent was for some reason very unsatisiy factory, and the weather conditions may have had something to do with it. No kills II resulted, and members returned to town ie earlier than usual. There will lie 110 hunt 10 next Saturday on account of the Auckland 11 Racing Club's meeting, but it is intended to d hold an extra day next Thursday, due notice ie of which will be given. Amongst those following yesterday were:—Mrs. W. Bloomie field on M'Liss, Miss Lloyd on The Abbott, r , Miss R. Gorrie on Aroha, Miss Hellaby on n Mina. Messrs. Bullock Webster {deputyis master) on Liberty, Sir Robt. Lockhart on g Waiuku, Capt. Lyon, A.D.C., on a pony,. E. D. -O'Rorke on Cloister, and W. Rloomcl field on Milady. Driving were Hon.
