LANDS FOR SELECTION.
RENEWABLE LEASE TENURE. Applications for a large number of sections, on renewable lease, in Matatnala settlement will be received at the Auckland Land Office up to Wednesday, May 27, the ballot being fixed for the 29th inst., at 11 a.m. There are' some 85 sections altogether, the area of each (with the exception of one) being one rood, and the rentals ranging from lis 3d to 15s 9d per half-year. Up to the same time sections will be offered on the same tenure in Wairere survey district (1 acre 1 rood each), and Tapa'pa survey district, the half-yearly rental being lis 3d. Applications are also invited for two sections of about four acres each, in the Cambridge survey district, at a similar rental. On the same tenure 3890 acres in the Otanewaiuuku (three sections), Maketu (tour sections), and Rotorua (three sections) survey districts will be thrown open on May 20, a ballot to be taken on May.2B. The areas range from 186 to 539 acres, and the halt-yearly rentals are from £4 4s to £14 16s.
