Skvkrai. days ago a " trial spin" was made on the new section of tramways to Mount Eden, and yesterday morning the authorities of the Public Works Department conducted an inspection of the line, which appeared to be thoroughly satisfactory. A car was run 011 either line, allowing .Mr. Wilson to take measurements between the ears 011 the curves and'make himself thoroughly acquainted with the grades, etc. At the terminus Mr. C. J. Tunks, as spokesman, for the Council,, in the absence through indisposition of Mr. 0. The assurance was given by both Mr. Wilson and Mr. , Walklate that there would be as little delay as possible as far as they were concerned.
