CuiusxcHUKCir, Thuisday. Lal!<;k, quantities of pipes for the water supply scheme in Christchurch are on their way to this city. Mr. John Duthie, of Wellington, who secured the contract for the supply of the pipes, is now in Christchurch on business connected with the contract. He states that 300 tons of pipe;! will arrive by the Corinthic about the middle of June, and that the valves, the hydrants, and another large quantity of the pipes will arrive a week later. Mr. A. Dudley Dobsou, the city engineer, states that £30,000 worth of contracts have already been Tet, comprising about one-third of the who's work.
