Canopus, who were arrested last night on warrant, charging them with the murder of Ernest John Burke,- of Reefton, appeared before the Court to-day and were remanded. Halinan, who is a Finn, and Anderson, a Norwegian, were liberated yesterday, after serving three days' imprisonment for being absent from the Canopus without ieave. Halinan was also fined for having un-Cus-tomed tobacco in his possession.
