As the late express train was crossing oyer Thames-street this evening, drawn by two. engines, the bogie w heels of the leading engine left the metals and ploughed over the street and on to the sleepers on the other side. The train was palled up, and the engine detached and run into a siding. As a result a delay of 50 minutes was caused. This street crossing is a. dangerous place : at any time, and it is fortunate the accident was no worse. The train had just started from the station, and was going at a slow rate of speed. It is stated that road metal had become jammed in the rails and lifted the bogie wheels off the line. The engine sustained little damage., but the passengers received a fright.
