Constable Murphy stated that on the 6th he was watching the circus elephants, which were in a vacant allotment in . Patteson-street. Suddenly a light spring- driven by deceased, came along, and the horse, seeing the elephants, became frightened, and collided with a tram pole. Deceased was thrown out, and when picked up was found to be unconscious. He was taken into the Rob Roy Hotel. Dr. Brockway, who was passing, was called in, and ordered the man's removal to the hospital. Doctor C. G.
