WITHOUT "THE ASHES."
WHAT HAPPENED TO JONES. "BATTING, NOT BOWLING." By Telegraph.—Press .—Copyright. April 17, 9.41 a.m.) London, April 16. Mr. A. O. Jones (captain of the M.G.G. team which recently visited Australia) stated, in the course of an interview, that none of the Marylobone. team were much impressed by the virility of Australian bowling. The. colonial cricket outlook in this respect, he considers, is not bright, but the batting is likely to be particularly strong for many years to come. It was the batting, not bowling, that won the rubber for Australia, he says.
