WAITEMATA CLUB'S CARNIVAL. The Waitemata Swimming Club held the sixth and laat carnival of the season in the Albert-street Baths on Thursday evening. Counter-attractions and the Easter holidays materially affected the attendance, which waa considerably below that of previous gatherings of this, popular club. M. E. Champion, who was billed to appear in an endeavour to break the New Zealand record for 100 yds. was unable to obtain leave, and did not attend. The programme was crone through most ' expeditiously, the genera! arrangements, in the hands of Mr. J. Mil" vitaill. Hon. sec, being good. Some tine racing was witnessed. Results:-— Novice Handicap, 50yds: A. Hodgson, 55., 1; IP. Morgan, 75.. 2. Four heats decided. Won by a yard. Time, 35 3-ss. : Easter Handicap. 100 yds: I?. Becker. 95., 1; J. Pereival, 95., 2. Three heats decided. - Won bv three yards. Time. 72 3-ss. St. : George's Handicap, 50yds: W. Eeid, 68., J; W. Geddes, 65., 2. Won by a touch. , Four heats decided. Time. 31 4-ss. .
