MR. McNAB AT BLENHEIM.
A COOK MEMORIAL,

Blenheim. Wednesday. The Hons. P. McNab and C. H. Mills met the Marlborough Cook Memorial Committee at Ship's Cove to-day, and participated in the selection of a site for the monument waicn is to mark Captain Cook's landingplace and rendezvous. The Minister, with Mr. Ritchie, also inspected the colony of Angora goats on Moturoa Island, opposite the Cove. At Picton and Blenheim the Minister took part in the reception of the crews which were successful at the championship regatta at Napier. To-morrow morning Mr. McNab will inspect the Wairau and Opawa fords, on the main Blenheim-Nelson Road, which local agitation seeks to have bridged, proceeding thence to Seddon to inspect the Starborough Settlement and adjoining lands, going through Elaxbourne and onto Christchurch. This is the Minister's first journey along this route, which will be taken by the South Island Trunk railway.
