BLACKBERRIES AS NOXIOUS WEEDS.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Gisbornje, Tuesday. In the Magistrate's Court to-day the inspector of noxious weeds proceeded against a fanner for failing to cut black* berries. The defence contended that the cultivated plant, Lawton berry, could not be brought under the designation "rabus fruticosis" in the Act. The prosecution, however, asserted that tiny blackberries not properly cut and trimmed, though they were improved varieties, became noxious weeds. The magistrate reserved his decision.
