A fashionable wedding took place at- St. John's "Church, Wellington, on Saturday, when Miss Linda McLean, daughter of Mr. Neil McLean (contractor for the Welling- . toil dock and Otira tunnel), was married to Mr. Ernest Blundell, eldest son of the late Mr. Henry Blundell, of the Evening Post proprietory. At the Methodist Church. Onehunga, 011 Wednesday, Mr. R. G. Laking, eldest son of Mr. J. Laking, was married to Miss Alice Frances Wilding, eldest daughter of Mr. W. Wilding, of Onehuuga. The church was tastefully decorated, the Rev. R. Taylor officiating. After the breakfast at the resi- ,.. dence of the bride's parents, the church choir and Sunday-school teachers made a handsome presentation to the bride. Prior to the departure of Mr. and Mrs. S. Parker for England, the presentation of several travelling requisites was made by the employees of the Southern Cross Galvanised Iron Works. Mr. Parker said he would like to have shown his appreciation by granting his employees a week's holiday, but, owing to pressure of business, he would give them all an extra week's pay. Mr. and Mrs. Parker leave by the Talune on Wednesday for Suva, connecting wrth R. M.S. Marama for Vancouver. Dr. Julius, Bishop of Christchurch, arrived at Onehunga by the Rarawa. from New Plymouth yesterday, and conducted two ordination services" at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell. He preached again at the cathedral in the evening. The Bishop will hold a confirmation service at Hamilton to-day, and on Tuesday lie will return to Auckland to hold a confirmation at the cathedral at eighko'clock.
