FLAXMILL EMPLOYEES' POSITION

Palmkrston North, Friday. A meeting was held at Foxlon last night, at the instigation of several flaxmillowncrs. with the avowed purpose of arranging a conference with fiaxmill employees with the idea of making arrangements for the men to work for a lower wage, art account of the low price ruling for flax," the conveners considering that at the present rates the mills were working at a loss.
The meeting was evidently premature, the conveners having no definite proposals to set before those present. A number of fiaxmill employees were present, and, after'a long discussion, during which numerous questions were asked by the men, the meeting terminated without any definite action. Mr. Ross, replying -io a question, said lie declined 10 permit his books to be .examined by.- a public accountant. -
