LIBERAL AND LABOUR FEDERATION.
The final arrangements have boon made in connection with the "demonstration promoted by the Onehunga branch of the Liberal and Labour Federation, to bo held at Papakura next Saturday. Yesterday the special committee, consisting of Messrs. T. Crisp, Turner, and W. Morton,'jun., arranged the following sports programme: Married ladies' race, three prizes; single ladies' race, three prizes; old buffers' race (over 40), two prizes; married men's race (under 40), two prizes; sack race, two prizes; cigar and umbrella race, two prizes; the federation handicap (members of federation only), three prizes; cadets' race, two prizes. In addition toys will be provided for the children. The.Cadets ami Mounted Rifles in camp at Papakura. will join, in the welcome to Sir .Joseph Ward, while a brass band will be in attendance. Special trains leave Auckland at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Onehunga id; 11.15 a.m. and 1.20 p.m., arriving at Papakura at 12.5 and 2.5 p.m. Excursion fares will rule, the fare from Auckland being fixed at Is 9d second-class return and from Onehunga at Is 6d return. Entries for the athletic events will be taken on the- ground, no nomination fee to bo charged, \ , .
