INVERCARGILL REGATTA.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Lnvercargill, Wednesday. The principal item of interest in the local regatta to-day was the interprovincial fours for the Edmonds' Challenge Shield, which has been held by Southland for about five years. The Otago crew (Sanders, Hutchison, Paton, and taker) were considered likely winner?, but had no chance with Campbell, Johnston, Brown, and Basstian, the last three of whom have been in the winning crew for some years. The Southland men, rowing well within themselves, took a gradual lead and held it, winning comfortably by about a length and a-half.
