THE NAPIER CARNIVAL.
AN ATTRACTIVE. PROGRAMME. [R? telegraph.—press association.] NAi'iEitj Wednesday. The executive of the Napier carnival are arranging the biggest Maori demonstration and sports ever held in the province. The natives generally are taking a keen interest in the matter, and a great treat is promised ■ for visitors. Applications for accommodation are flowing in daily, and an immense influx of visitors is anticipated. The military tournament will be on an immense scale, the free passes issued by the Government being a big incentive to entrants. The rowing course for the championship regatta has been viewed by several * experts and declared to be the finest in the Dominion,
Altogether the success of the carnival seems assured. The total prize money, viz., £2550, is proving a big draw.
