A DRIVER DIES OF SHOCK.

An accident resulting in".; the death of Richard Osborne, a driver, occurred on South Bulli Colliery's tram line (N.S.W.) on the sth inst. An unusually heavy load of hoppers, necessitating the coupling of two engines, had been drawn to the vicinity of the company's jetty. After, the engines had been uncoupled it was found necessary to do some shunting on the loopline, to which the front engine proceeded. After shunting operations the. two engines came into collision, with the result that both were seriously damaged, and the road very much, torn about. After the collision Driver Osborne drew the fires from his engine, -which had practically become disabled, and then sat down and bad a drink. ■',■ Almost, immediately after he was seen to go off into a faint, from which he never recovered. .Death was attri- ; buted to heart failure consequent on shock. Deceased was a married man, and leaves a widow and family. Ho had been in the cmploy of the company for many years.
