CARTERS WINDOW SASH CO.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of shareholders in Carter's Champion Window Sash Company, Limited, was held in Tyrone Buildings, Custom-street, yesterday afternoon, Mr. F. Whitehead, chairman of directors, presiding. The directors in their annual report stated that they had deemed it advisable to form the syndicate into a limited liability company, and-this was registered under the name of "Carter's Champion Window Sash, Company, Limited," on November 21, 1907. Letters patent had been granted for the Dominion of New Zealand (complete specification No. 22,882), and the invention was now in the course of being patented in all the leading countries, throughout the world. At the present time negotiations were being entered into for the manufacture of the patent sash lifter and lock, and tenders were being' sent out with a view to placing the article upon the New Zealand market, and this wpuld .be followed up generally as soon as letters patent were completed. Notification was now being made by circular to architects, builders, and contractors of the invention and its merits, and the directors hoped to be doing business within the Dominion as soon as tenders had been accepted for manufacture and supply of the patent sash lifter and lock. The balance-sheet was of a favourable nature, and on the motion of the chairman it was adopted, together with the report. A shareholder suggested that the company should ,bo represented at the forthcoming London exhibition, but the secretary (Mr. H. P. Taylor) said that the suggestion had oonie too late, as space was not now obtainable.. . .

The directors (Messrs. T. E. Carter, W. Denison, F. Carter, G. Smerdon, and F. Whitehead, chairman) were re-elected, and Mr. D. M. Forsyth was again appointed auditor.
