MR. KEIR HARDIE.
ARRIVAL IN HOBART.
IN LOVE WITH NEW ZEALAND

Hobart, January 17. Mr. Keir Habdie, M.P., arrived in Hobart from New Zealand to-day and was ■welcomed by the Workers Political League. The Mayor, however, declined to officially receive him. In the course of an interview, Mr. Hardie, asked how he found the workers of New Zealand faring, said that they were better off even than those in Australia. He fell in love with New Zealand, and was satisfied that their legislation was proceeding on right- lines. AN OTAGO RESOLUTION. [by telegraph.press ASSOCIATION.] Dukedin, Friday. At a meeting of the Otago Trades and Labour Council, the following resolution was passed:—"That this Council place upon record their regret that His Worship the Mayor declined to extend to Mr. Keir Hardie, M.P., an official welcome on the occasion of his visit to Dunedin." It was decided to forward a Mosgiel travelling rug to Mr? Keir Hardie, as a memento of Mr. Hardie's visit.
