The opening services of a new Methodist Church at Birkdale took place on Sunday last, the Rev. G. S. Cook, superintendent of the Birkenhead circuit, being the preacher in the morning and afternoon, and the Rev. G. Bond, chairman of the district, conducting the evening service. There was a large attendance, including visitors from Birkenhead, Northcote, and Auckland. The building, which was designed by Mr. P. Souster, of Birkenhead, and erected by Mr. A. Langsford, lias given every satisfaction, and will accommodate 130 persons. An opening social will be held on Saturday evening, when a financial statement will be presented.
