ALL-RED ROUTE.
AN EXPENSIVE UNDERTAKING By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright London, December 18. The Pall Mall Gazette says the AllRed route will prove highly expensive, and will involve a heavy annual charge on the British Exchequer. There was no chance of compelling the foreigner to pay for such a form of preference, and the Gazette adds > " The higher the Usill is, the more conspicuous will be the inconsistency of the free trade Government."
