WEATHER CONDITIONS.
ANXIETY IN CANTERBURY. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchirch, Thursday. Continued pry weather and excessive heat during the last few days have seriously affected the crops and feed. On light land crops have ripened prematurely, and are light and thin. Much, however, is already in stook. Heavier lands show better results, and continuous rain at an early date would do much good, but the prospect is not encouraging. Feed ie falling away everywhere, and farmers are very anxious. Dijnkdin, Thursday. Steady ram is general throughout Central Otago. In Dunedin it has been raining since last- evening. Mastkkton, Thursday. Rain commenced to fall late this afternoon, and the downpour will be very beneficial to the crops. [BY TELEGRAPH.— correspondent.] Wellington, Thursday. Heavy rain fell this afternoon. It will do a great deal ot good, as the dry weather was beginning to affect t'«e grass and crops in „the country, and the gardens in the town.
