PAPAKURA S.M. COURT.
A special sitting of the Papakura S.M. Court was held on the 28th nit., Messrs. J. T. Stembridge and H. Walsh, J.P.'s, presiding. • Thomas Perry, of Bombay, -was charged by the police with stealing a crowbar, value £11, from Alexander Halliday, Ramarama. He was convicted and fined 5», and £2 2s 64 costs. Perry was also charged with stealing a- saw, spindle,. and belt, value £4 15s, the property of J. A. Connie: After hearing the,evidence for the prosecution, the Bench decided to dismiss the charge. The monthly sitting of the Court was held on Monday, Mi'. H. W. Korthcroft, S.M., presiding. Mrs. Ann Can- applied for a maintenance order against two of her sons, John and Patrick, who were ordered to pay 5s per week, the first payment to be- made on December 9. ... , Henry* Naylor, settler, of Pollok, claimed from John Albert S. Slack, - farmer, of Papakura, the sum of £125, damages for breach of contract. The evidence went to show that plaintiff entered into a verba] contract with the defendant at Papakura. under an arrangement customarily known as thirds." The ease occupied the greater portion of the (toy, and plaintiff, who was represented by Mr. Peak, was nonsuited.* Mr. Earl, who appeared for defendant, did not ask for costs.
Three old age pension claims were granted, and one application was struck out.
