J-.16 a insult'of communications which have been exchanged between the Federal Government and the Colonial Office, arising out of a gross miscarriage of justice in England, to which attention was drawn during the last Federal Parliament by Mr. Justice Higgins, then a private member of the House of Representatives, an Act.has been passed by the Imperial Legislature which; enables the Acts of the King's oversea dominions* to be accepted without formal proof. . The- new Imperial law provides, the Commonwealth Attorney-General says, that any. copy of a colonial law bearing the imprint of a Government printer shall be accepted as evidence in the British courts of'! the existence of tho law.
