DAIRYING AT MAUKU.

MEETING OF MILK SUPPLIERS. Mb. Wesley Sfbaoo, managing director of the New Zealand Dairy Association, met a large arid representative gathering of suppliers and shareholders at the hall, Patumahoc, on the 18th insL Mr. Heywood Crispe, who .presided) explained his action regarding creamery matters. Mr. Spragg said he understood that the chief trouble was the low tests that have prevailed for some time, but he could assure them it was a general complaint all round, as far. as .Taranakt. He was convinced .it was caused by the adverse weather experienced at the atari! of the season, and he was sure that their tester (Mr. Stevenson) was most accurate in his work. Mr. Spragg went most carefully into all the points of the milk-test-ing. Questioned as to whether the Mauku creamery was up to the mark, he stated that it was not. It was one of their first creameries, and,it would be brought up to date for next season by pulling down the building and renovating everything. Regarding the erection of a creamery at Patumahoe, he understood a • requisition had been got up asking another firm to supply tins want.. . Ho could not quite understand shareholders wanting opposition to their own association, which theyhad . helrx-cl to build . up, by taking shares in it. If they considered a creamery was wanted, and the milk supply could be got, it was for them to say so, and his association would supply their want. Mr. J. Henry laid on the table the requisition he had in hand, giving the number .of cows, etc., . and; the names of proposed suppliers to a creamery at Patumahoe, but said ho was quite willing, if the rest were of the same mind, to place it in Mr. Spragg's hands. The following resolution was carried : —" That .the New, Zealand Dairy Association be requested to erect a creamery for next season in the neighbourhood of Patumahoe."
