CASE AGAINST MR. CRICK.
JUDGMENT RESERVED
The Full Court, consisting of six judges. in Sydney, has reserved judgment, in the case "in which W. P. Crick, ex-Minister for Lands, was called on to show cause why he should not he struck off the roll of solicitors in consequence of the finding of the Royal Commission which inquired into the lands scandals.
■ Counsel for the Incorporated Law Institute,' addressing the Court, said there was only one conclusion which the Court could come to: that was, that the. evidence justified the finding of the Royal Commission up to the very hilt. , Apart from the evidence before the Lands Commission, there was material which would justify and compel the Court to come to the same conclusion, namely, that respondent had- accepted half the money paid to the late Mr. Close as fees from pastoralists. That was most convincing to any unbiassed and" unprejudiced person looking at the evidence in a judicial way. That being so, he submitted, on behalf of. the Law Institute and the public, that they should be protected in the only way in which they could be protected by the Court when such a matter came before it.-
, The Chief Justice indicated .that their Honors would deliver judgment as soon as possible. *-..-.
