Reddy, Nationalist member for Birr "Division of King's County, has been struck off the Commission of the Peace for Ireland for having disregarded the Lord Chancellor's warning against publicly recommending the driving of cattle off farms in the troubled districts. The prospect of the Belfast employers accepting the Glasgow Carriers' Association's offer of 600 men has led to a threat of a general strike. . . . Five, regiments of military are patrolling the streets. , (Received August 12, 12.46 a.m.) London, August 11. The strikers at Belfast seriously stoned a party belonging to the Berkshire Regiment guarding a number of carts, and several were badly hurt.
