ATHLETICS.
DEVOXPORT SPORTS PROJECTION SOCIETY. A meeting in connection' with the formation.' of the. Dcvonport Sports Protection Society was convened some time ago by Messrs. McLean and Swinnerton, and their efforts have been well supported by all the clubs of the district. At a recent meeting held in tho North Shore Rowing Club rooms, it was decided to form the society. Rules were obtained from the. . Canterbury Association and forwarded to the different clubs for consideration. A later meeting was held, and with some slight alterations, the rules were adopted. It was decided to hold the annual meeting in September next. Tho objects of the society not only includes the work of seeing that members are financial in tho different clubs, but. also assists sport in every legitimate way.
