Blenheim, Monday * The body of William Preston, a young . man who had been missing since May 9, ' 1 was found yesterday by two young men , who were out shooting on a lagoon at Vernon. The body was found near the t place where the unfortunate man's hat was recovered some four weeks ago. Chkistcmttiich, Monday. Michael Foggerty, who was found in a sly-grog shop on a recent raid by the : police, was charged before- Mr. Day, S.M.'j , with being an idle and disorderly person, , and an associate of thieves and vaga- * bonds. On this charge he was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. The charge of being found in a sly-grog shop was withdrawn by the police. - New Plymouth, Monday. During the half-year ended June 30. there f^ were 171 births, 57 marriages, and •'!•] death* ;Vi in New Plymouth. Compared . with"!.he same'. period in 1906 an increase is shown of ■ 1-3 | marriages and 20 deaths, and a decrease of 20 Births.
