There was- a good attendance of ladies.at the office of the Auckland Centre of the St. John Ambulance Association last evening, when Dr. Eleanor Baker gave the first lecture of .the course on first aid to the injured. As Dr. Baker, had to leavo early to keep another engagement, Mrs. Smith, lady superintendent of the- Auckland division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, gave some praotical instruction in the use of the triangular bandage, which is always used in the first aid course, being easily made, and quickly applied., Dr. Murray will give the initial lecture to men to-morrow ©v<sning. A free health talk will be given by Miss K. McCall this afternoon, at the Vlavi Rooms, Strand Arcade, Queen-street.
