[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. J The annual meeting of members of till Ohinemuri Agricultural and Horticultural Society was held at Paeroa last Saturday, tho president, Mr. 11. Poland, M.H.R., presiding. The annual report showed that th« • past season, the ninth since the inauguration of the society, had been most successful. Two shows had been . held—... horticultural exhibition on January 30 > and the stock show on February 23. The horti- . cultural show resulted in a loss of over £30, but the stock show was so successful that the society ended up the season with a cash balance in hand of £8 2s 7d. :> Since-last; year the society had been registered under'; the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877, and the present show ground had been leased for five vears. The - statement of assets 'and liabilities showed tho liabilities to bo nil. and the assets £97 14s sd, con- ■ sisting chiefly of the vards on tho show ground.
