Calcutta, June 3. | The Calcutta newspaper The Englishman shows by details the gravity of the "National Volunteer" movement—a widespread native organisation, having for its aim the overawing of shopkeepers who are selling British goods in Bengal. ! (Received June 4, 9.42 p.m.) Calcutta, June 4. The Viceroy of India (Lord Minto), in accordance with a resolution passed by his Council, has instructed the Lieutenant-Governors to order prosecutions in all cases of publication of seditious writings.
