• London, June 3. The workhouses of the City of London are using margarine instead of butter in the interests of economy.
The poor law inquiry of last year showed! that inmates of workhouses were being sup* plied with the best of all kinds of food, obtained at prices beyond the reach of the or- J dinary working man.
